If you travel more than twice a year, buying cover trip by trip stops making sense. Annual Multi-Trip covers every trip you take over 12 months under a single policy, at home in Australia and overseas.
Cover runs for 12 months from the start date you choose. Take as many trips as you like inside that year, at home or overseas, without buying a new policy or filling in the same details again before every one. Book something at short notice and you are already covered.
Every policy covers domestic trips within Australia and international travel worldwide, excluding any destination the Australian Government has at DFAT advice level 4. There is no list of countries to keep updated and nothing to add before you go, so a change of plans does not mean a change of policy.
Your benefit limits reinstate once each trip finishes. What you claim on one trip does not reduce what is available on the next, so a policy bought in January is still at full strength for a trip in November. Every trip you take starts with the full cover available to you, right through to the end of the policy year.
Rental vehicle excess cover is built into Annual Multi-Trip rather than sold as a paid add-on. Hire a car on any trip during the year and the excess on your rental vehicle insurance is reimbursed up to the PDS limit. You do still need that rental insurance in place.
Annual Multi-Trip does not limit how many trips you take. It limits how long any single trip can be, and you choose that when you buy.

Children are not free or discounted on Annual Multi-Trip, they are priced as full travellers. If you are insuring a family, it is worth comparing the total against buying cover for each trip instead. Our Single Trip International cover includes children on your policy for a nominal charge up to age 18, so for some families it works out cheaper. We would rather you landed on the right one.
